Plot Summary

Despite the loss of a newborn love, Key has made his goal by reaching the teleportation cube he has fought so hard to reach. But what he thought was going to transport him just outside mainland to a flourishing Island, is in fact a travel trough space to a new habitable planet.

About 

Metastase is part of an exercise at the Norwegian Film school in Lillehammer. The focus was the first culmination around midpoint of a feature length film, with the twist right in it´s heels. The story is set in the future, long after the third world war. Earth is almost dead, with only a few habitable areas left, controlled by a ruthless regime. Key is fighting with the rebels in trying to gain control of an Island stil flourishing, but what he finds instead may lead to a whole new era for mankind.

In this Sci-fi universe we wanted to experiment with a minimalistic and expressive style, brutal violence, silent love, extreme dynamic changes and a almost painterly staging of the mis en scene. To give the film a fluid progression we also filmed it in a shot by shot form. We wanted to be free to design our own world, both set production wise, but also in terms of audio-visual style.
