FINITE

Plot Summary

Finally, after an endless search to find other survivors in a lifeless post-apocalyptic world, Key has found a fragmented human voice in his radio receiver. Tired, but with a new string of hope, he follows the signal and soon he discovers a deserted ghost town, dead and abandoned. Tortured by traumas and the lack of interaction he starts searching for the radio source and other signs of life, but with his crocked  body and crumbling mind his time is about to run out. Will he find the touch he so desperately needs before he falls apart? And if he do, will he understand what it is, before it´s to late?

Finite is a post-apocalyptic story about human loneliness and our fundamental need for interaction. It reflects upon how this simple, but essential form of meaning becomes crucial in a world where everything we take for granted is completely stripped away. And even though interaction has become the sole purpose of existence, trauma and fear can still, paradoxically, lead to the destruction of the same thing that can cure it.

About

Finite is my bachelor graduation film at the Norwegian Film school of fine arts in Lillehammer. The work was not restricted in any form by the school, apart from a budget limit and the length of the film (maximum 25 min). It can be viewed as a fully independent film in regards of story and artistic ambition.
